Laboratory Services strives for constructive communication with laboratory personnel concerning changes, additions or deletions to the services provided.    For this full time role, the Supervisor of laboratory Services should have exceptional organization skills, positive and motivating attitude, problem solving skills to serve staff and customers, and attention to detail.   Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm.  Occasional rotations to 7:30 am-4 pm will be required as needed.

You will maintain extensive knowledge of cytogenetic technologies and emerging applications. In this role you will employ and maintain effective communication with investigators, CSR staff, and other personnel involved in CSR projects and activities.  The Director will advise and interact with faculty and other research staff on the management, design, and technical needs of projects serviced by the CSR. The Director will ensure and oversee operations and quality of reagents and services provided by the CSR, as well as develop annual budgets and recommendations for future capital acquisitions.   The Cytogenetic Shared Resource provides a large diversity of cytogenetic services including standard G band karyotyping, spectral karyotyping, FISH analysis, and FISH probe design and development. A wide range of FISH services are offered including DNA FISH, RNA FISH, and all combinations of RNA FISH, DNA FISH, and immunofluorescence protein staining.  These types of analysis can be performed sequentially on the exact same cells. The Yu Lab in the Department of Computational Biology is seeking outstanding candidates for a leader researcher focused on systems chemical biology and drug discovery. The Yu Lab is focused on developing and applying computational and systems biology approaches to dissect the molecular circuits that drive tumorigenesis, tumor immune-escape and drug resistance, and identifying novel immunotherapy targets, biomarkers and combination therapies (particularly with immunotherapy) for the treatment of pediatric cancers. This lead researcher will lead the efforts of preclinical target validation, compound screening and optimization, and mechanism of action studies. This lead researcher will assist to analyze and integrate high-throughput omics data, at bulk and single-cell levels, including transcriptomic, genomic, epigenomic, functional genomic, chemical genomic and proteomic data to model context-specific cellular/molecular networks and to identify actionable targets, biomarkers or compounds that could be translated into clinic for the development of precision medicine in pediatric cancer. The candidate will work closely with our collaborators in the departments of iTARGETS, Immunology, Chemical Biology, and Oncology for experiment design and data generation, and with our pipeline and visualization teams to explore novel analysis approaches for drug screening, single-cell RNA-Seq, NGS-based RNAi/CRISPR screening, immune-profiling and proteomics data for molecular network inference and target identification.   Candidates with a strong interest in cancer immunotherapy, cancer precision medicine and expertise in chemical biology, oncology, immunology, computational biology, bioinformatics are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to participate in research projects involved in the analysis of the cancer genome, epigenome, transcriptome or proteome. Experience with omics data analysis using R or Python and familiarity with linux/unix is preferred. Experience and knowledge in chemical biology, immunology and/or immuno-oncology is highly desirable. Biostatisticians work in teams with a faculty member and sometimes with other biostatisticians to support assigned specific research areas. This staff biostatistician will join Dr. Stan Pounds’ team in the Department of Biostatistics working in statistical cancer genomics. The successful applicant will advance scientific understanding of pediatric leukemia and other cancers while building productive relationships with collaborators across St. Jude.
