Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a senior faculty member, the director of neuropsychology research operations works collaboratively as part of multidisciplinary healthcare and research teams across the institution. 

  • Utilizes unique, advanced, clinical research and supervisory skills to achieve the highest research goals.
  • Directs and supervises neuropsychology research operations.
  • Coordinates and oversees neuropsychological testing and data collection by trainees (e.g., graduate students, interns, postdoctoral fellows), CRAs, and masters' level Neuropsychology Research Associates with pediatric and adult participants.
  • Implements and executes clinical research protocols; --collects, documents, and analyzes data; collaborates in the development and conduct of research initiatives; and oversees the neuropsychology training of students and new staff.
  • Works with Principal Investigators to develop grants, research initiatives and publications as well as to establish policies and procedures to ensure high-quality research.
  • Develops and implements Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Oversees activities of the research team in order to develop and implement research procedures and publish research results.
  • Conducts independent research.
  • Manages neuropsychology research operations for multidisciplinary research studies.
  • Ensures neuropsychology research operations are aligned with departmental and institutional strategic goals.

Minimum Education

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology or related discipline from an APA- or CPA-accredited program.
  • Two (2) years of postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology

Minimum Experience

  • Five (5) years of related work in clinical or behavioral research, which must include conducting and/or coordinating research in either industry or an academic setting.
  • Two (2) years of related supervisory/managerial experience is required.
  • Experience in a medical setting with both pediatric and adult populations strongly preferred.

Required Credentials

  • Licensed in the State of Tennessee as a Psychologist with Health Service Provider designation required. (Certification tracked by Medical Staff Office).
