We are looking for a motivated Lead Researcher to join the lab of Dr. Russell in the Infectious Diseases Department at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Dr. Russell's lab is interested in identifying molecular mechanisms of infectious diseases caused by emerging influenza viruses and paramyxoviruses, negative-strand RNA virus replication and pathogenesis, and studying viral envelope glycoproteins as targets for novel vaccines and drugs.
This is an opportunity to incorporate disciplines from structural biology to studying infectious diseases in animals, better understand how a virus gains pandemic potential in humans, and be on the forefront of improving vaccines.
Experience in viral pathogenesis and working on animal models is preferred.
