If you enjoy learning something new and having variety in your job, St. Jude has a Blood Bank Medical Technologist (MT) II/Clinical Laboratory Scientist position for you to work in a state of the art laboratory. Our Blood Bank is accredited by AABB and CAP under its Lab Accreditation and CAP15189 programs. This position offers you a unique opportunity to work in a challenging patient care environment by providing transfusion support for complex pediatric patients treated in our Comprehensive Cancer Center, our hematology program which focuses on sickle cell disease and other blood disorders, as well as other centers dedicated to treating children with catastrophic diseases. Responsible for the prompt, efficient, and accurate performance, validation, and reporting of laboratory test results which are utilized for the purpose of prognosis, diagnosis, treatment, and research. Under the direct supervision of the Director, Manager or Supervisor, the MT II is responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. The MT II may work under the guidance of the MT III or MT IV. In order to be successful in the role, the selected individual will need to be able to work independently, problem-solve, and have strong attention to detail skills as well as strong organizational skills.
