We build extensions to vendor systems using languages such as Java, C#, and MATLAB. We also build custom software and databases using Postgres, Python, C++, R, PHP (Laravel), and JavaScript (Vue/React). This role is not solely software development. The ideal candidate will be able to work with unfamiliar systems and learn enough about them to determine whether we are using them optimally. The Systems Analyst might schedule training, talk with vendors, or read documentation to determine if there are better tools out there for our needs. We need the person to become a super user of our systems and help us get the most out of them.
It is not required that the Systems Analyst be an expert programmer or that the person already know how to do anything related to radiation oncology or medical imaging. CT, MR, and PET imaging modalities are critical to treatment planning, delivery, and response assessment. It is required, however, that the employee be willing and able to learn these things as needed (with help from us of course) and that the person can collaborate with others. This position requires frequent interaction with and support of domain experts such as radiation oncologists, medical physicists, medical dosimetrists, and research staff. It is imperative that the the employee be able to work actively and constructively with them to develop processes and programs that aid their work.
This role is well positioned to make many important contributions to pediatric cancer treatment.
