The Systems Architect position is a unique role in our Information Services department that will focus on the development of new cloud service architecture to deliver capabilities critical to the success of cloud initiatives across multiple departments at St. Jude. St. Jude is expanding the use of cloud services to respond to the scale and pace of technology innovation demanded by our cutting edge research and institutional mission. Our goal in Information Services is to develop foundational services and capabilities through a growing cloud technology portfolio that allows our research community and others to explore and innovate, with confidence that security, connectivity, governance, and operations are engaged and ready to support their needs.
As the lead technical role in cloud architectural engineering and design efforts within Information Services, the Systems Architect will drive implementation of the Information Services cloud strategy. This position is responsible for understanding and building a comprehensive service view of the enterprise’s cloud strategy, processes, standards, information, and assets, and will then use that context to define an enterprise-wide IT architecture that will meet current and future needs in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner. The position will work in partnership with IS technical architects, subject matter experts, and leadership to develop a common vision of how cloud services and technology will be used and deployed by IS within St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
This position requires a self-directed and knowledgeable individual who has extensive knowledge of cloud technologies (such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Amazon Web Services), passion to drive technology forward, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across our institution to enable cloud adoption and distributed development of cloud-appropriate solutions in support of the St. Jude mission.
