This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated scientist to join the Immunology Department at SJCRH in the laboratory of Dr. Thirumala Devi-Kanneganti. Our laboratory extensively employs murine models to understand how the innate immune system recognizes and responds to pathogens and how genetic mutations in innate immunity affect the development of infectious, inflammatory, and autoimmune diseases in humans.
We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented team member to assist in the management of our large mouse colony (~100 genetic lines) and perform various laboratory techniques, as well as assist with the maintenance of lab operations, such an inventorying and ordering. You will also process primary model organism sample derivatives (DNA, RNA, protein) for analysis. Exceptional candidates should have experience in in vivo mouse models and mouse genetics and several aspects of molecular, cell, biochemical, or organismal biology. All candidates are expected to have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work constructively as a member of a team.
Previous experience with mouse models and breeding, CRISPR editing in mice, and maintaining lab operations is highly preferred.
