The Center for Applied Bioinformatics (CAB) at the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) is seeking a creative Software Engineer with a strong background in bioinformatics to join our Development and Operation (DevOp) team. The new hire will work closely with a team of computer scientists, bioinformatics scientists and clinical research staff to develop new methods/solutions, deploy tools/pipelines, and maintain computational infrastructures for various applications in the exciting field of multi-omics analysis. Success at this position requires a firm grounding in software engineering, data analytics, ability to work seamlessly in teams, and a strong focus on making our research investigators successful. The new hire will also gain experiences and skills to handle big data and develop expertise in data centric workflow development and management.
The CAB is an institutional shared resource, with the mission to provide state-of-the-art bioinformatics services to SJCRH investigators. We maintain the highest level of scientific rigor by carefully vetting and documenting all bioinformatics methods and pipelines.
