The Chemical Biology & Therapeutics Department of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Staff Scientist to immediately join the laboratory of Dr. Anang Shelat. The Shelat laboratory employs techniques from chemical biology, molecular biology, genomics, and informatics to learn from the wealth of available biological and chemical data; and then, uses the insights gained to guide the development of novel therapeutics for devastating pediatric diseases. In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop new biochemical, biophysical, and cell-based assays, screen drugs using high-throughput and high-content methods, rigorously assess drug mechanism of action, and identify rational drug combination strategies. You will participate in disease-oriented projects teams alongside clinicians, chemists, and pharmacologists, with the ultimate goal of translating research findings into clinical trials. The ideal candidate will have experience in chemical biology, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and translational research, which will complement other skills in the lab.
