  • Overview

    The Cellular and Molecular Biology Department has an open position available for an accomplished and dynamic Sr. Research Technologist able to work independently in a lab and assist the principal investigator with the collection and analysis of data for specified research projects. This lab’s primary focus is the regulation of cell death and mitochondrial function as it relates to the study of leukemia. The ideal candidate will perform laboratory experiments with minimal supervision, learning and developing new procedures, and will possess a background in molecular biology and analysis of resulting data. Experience with genome-editing including as CRISPR/Cas9-based technologies is preferable. The position will manage specific, but limited, laboratory functions and training of laboratory personnel. Must demonstrate effort to increase knowledge of a specific area of research and participate in the presentation and/or publication of research results. Properly conducts specific projects and maintain efficient laboratory operations. Performs other duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and the institution.

     

    Minimum Education

    Bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field is required

    Minimum Experience

    A minimum of three (3) years total work experience as a SJCRH Research Technologist or three (3) years relevant post-degree experience in a similar research environment is required with a Bachelor's degree.

    A minimum of two (2) years total work experience as a SJCRH Research Technologist or two (2) years relevant post-degree experience in a similar research environment is required with a Master's degree.

    No experience is required with a PhD in a related field.
