    The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine is a new and growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the mission of taking St. Jude to the world by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.



    GPM is seeking an enthusiastic and creative team member to fill the vital role of Global Infectious Diseases Coordinator. The Global ID Coordinator will be responsible for designing, coordinating, implementing, and oversight of projects to ensure the success of Infectious Disease initiatives around the world. Reporting to the Global Infectious Diseases Project Coordinator, this position will act as a liaison to others in the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine, and collaborators in regions and sites within St. Jude Global.


    The Global Infectious Diseases Coordinator is responsible for:

    • Coordinating and participating in education, training, mentoring, and evaluation of infection care and infection prevention projects at St. Jude Global sites.
    • Supervising the implementation of clinical research and/or quality improvement protocols and project-based initiatives.
    • Facilitating coordination of site visits and prepares agenda and summary reports from those visits.
    • Monitoring progress and develops and tracks project timelines and deliverables.
    • Preparing and presenting summaries, reports and analysis.
    • Participating in abstracts, assembling and organizing epidemiological research data while evaluating baseline situations and outcomes of implemented initiatives.
    • Conducting standardized auditing and prospective surveillance of infections and their risk factors.
    • Conducting infection prevention and care assessments.
    • Facilitating communication among different team members at St. Jude and St. Jude Global sites.
    • Maintaining and updates relevant data and project records for all activities in the region.
    • Managing and updates grant budgets; assisting in development and writing of grant applications and reports.
    • Coordinating, attending, and executing meetings, workshops and events.

    Minimum Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
    • Master’s degree highly preferred.

    Minimum Experience

    • Four (4) years of experience in project or program management is required, preferably in health related and resource-limited (low- and middle-income country) settings.
    • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
    • Must have flexibility to travel internationally for on-site facilitation.
    • Internal communications in a related setting or field.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
    • Excellent PC skills are essential.
    • Must have demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects/work initiatives.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Outlook Calendar tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities.
    • Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to work as a team player and express ideas objectively and effectively when speaking to groups and individuals.
    • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate meetings across different time zones.
    • Strong communication and analytic skills.
    • Adaptable problem-solving skills, able to analyze and synthesize new information quickly.
    • Cultural sensitivity is a must.
