  • Overview

    St. Jude is looking for a highly motivated, meticulous, self-starter who can handle the responsibility of maintaining St. Jude's core and security functionality. The Senior Clinical Analyst I is responsible for making sure the systems are working properly and will allow the physicians, clinicians, nurses and ancillary staff the ability to enter and retrieve patient data seamlessly. 

    Responsible for position management, the setting of privileges and preferences, contributes to the event set hierarchy, patient combine process, and core event manager. Participate and/or lead in the design, development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of new and legacy systems. Responsible for production support and troubleshooting for issues related to core and security build.   Also responsible for requesting, researching and tracking Cerner service/exception packages.

    Minimum Education

    • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems or in a Patient Care or Clinically Related Specialty such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory Medicine/Pathology, Respiratory Therapy, etc. is required.
    • Registration, certification (or equivalent) in area of specialty preferred.

    Minimum Experience

    • Minimum three (3) years experience in a patient care or clinically related specialty such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory Medicine/Pathology, Respiratory Therapy, etc.
    • Minimum two (2) additional years of clinical system application support and/or development experience required.
    • Five (5) years of direct clinical analyst experience may be considered in lieu of direct patient care or clinically related specialty experience.

    Required Credentials

    • Minimum three years of experience in a patient care or clinically related specialty such as: Nursing, Pharmacy, Laboratory Medicine/Pathology, Respiratory Therapy, etc.
    • Must include two years of departmental experience in a designated or defacto role with such responsibilities as Departmental Analyst/Coordination/System Liaison; Project Leader; Systems Support/Development.

    OR

    In lieu of direct patient care or clinically related specialty experience, five (5) years of direct clinical analyst experience may be considered.

    • Experience with Cerner is required.
    • Experience with event set hierarchy is required.
    • Experience with core event manager is required.
    • Knowledge of alias pools is preferred.
    • Experience with contributor sources/systems is preferred.
    • Understanding of HL7 is preferred.

    Other Credentials

    • Registration, certification (or equivalent) in area of specialty preferred.
