  • Overview

    The Analytical Technologies Center (ATC) is seeking an experienced scientist to support pre-clinical small molecule formulation development at St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memphis TN. The person in this role will be responsible for a range of formulation development activities, including pre-formulation, process development, and drug product characterization. ATC offers a full assemblage of state-of-the-art analytical instrumentation including FTMS, Q-Tof-MS, AB Sciex triple quad mass specs, several single quads, EI MS, in addition to a variety of HPLC’s and UPLC systems. Reporting directly to the ATC leader, this person will be expected to independently define and execute formulation development strategy for multiple pre-clinical programs across St Jude, and assist with performing the center’ daily operations. Manuscript writing, accurate record keeping, reports, and SOP-writing will also be expected.

    Minimum Education

    Bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field is required

    Minimum Experience

    A minimum of three (3) years total work experience as a SJCRH Research Technologist or three (3) years relevant post-degree experience in a similar research environment is required with a Bachelor's degree.

    A minimum of two (2) years total work experience as a SJCRH Research Technologist or two (2) years relevant post-degree experience in a similar research environment is required with a Master's degree.

    No experience is required with a PhD in a related field.

     

    Preferred Skills: 

    Hands on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development, including designing pre-formulation experiments to inform formulation development work.

    Advanced knowledge of  formulation processes and analytical test methods required to support pre-clinical formulation development and stability studies.

    Practical skills, problem solving abilities and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    Experience in working within multidisciplinary teams.

    Broad theoretical and practical knowledge of advanced bioanalytical methods and assays development (i.e., chromatographic, mass spectrometric, etc.).

    Experience in developing drug formulations.
