    We are currently seeking a Director of Respiratory Therapy to come and part of the Divison of Critical Care - Respiratory Therapy Services. The Director of Respiratory Therapy will lead the team to meet goals and objectives of the division and identify areas of growth for the team. The Director will develop and maintain policies and procedures while implementing new ones to constantly improve respiratory services provided to patients.


    To be a successful candidate, one must be motivating, engaging, energetic, and passionate about their job and an effective leader who will provide guidance, leadership, and structure to the Respiratory Therapy team.



    • Responsible for the management and oversight of the direct activities of Respiratory Therapy to assure the delivery of consistent, high-quality patient care and integration in all hospital-wide functions
    • Serves as a clinical resource for all other Respiratory Therapists
    • Assures documentation of respiratory services in accordance with established clinical guidelines
    • Establishes ongoing communications with employees
    • Integrates the Division of Critical Care - Respiratory Therapy Services with the hospital's primary scope and mission
    • Monitors monthly budget reports to ensure compliance and/or appropriately justifies any variances
    • Develops and maintains standards for clinical practice in conjunction with the Medical Director and national organizations
    • Represents Respiratory Therapy in division-wide management meetings, Clinical Staff Meetings and hospital-wide committees or task groups
    • Collaborates with Education Resources
    • Performs other duties as may be assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the Respiratory Therapy Services within the Division of Critical Care and the Department of Pediatric Medicine



    Minimum Education

    • Graduate of an AMA approved course for respiratory care
    • Successful completion of National Board of Respiratory Care Registry examination as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
    • Baccalaureate degree required. Masters degree preferred.

    Minimum Experience

    • Five years clinical experience required, to include pediatric respiratory care, critical care and three years experience in a supervisory or leadership role

    Required Credentials

    • Licensed Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Tennessee with ABG endorsement

    Other Credentials

    • Required to have and maintain certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as provided by an American Heart Association-accredited program
