    St. Jude is anticipating a need in our Legal Office this summer. The Associate Counsel role at St. Jude provides an exciting opportunity to work in a fast paced legal office in a healthcare environment. The selected candidate will use legal skills and technical knowledge to advance the mission of St. Jude.


    The Associate Counsel will report to the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer, and will work closely with Information Services to advise on information technology transactions, regulatory, compliance, and other legal matters as assigned. The Associate Counsel reviews, edits, analyzes, and negotiates agreements for technology-related goods and services, such as software licensing and hardware purchase agreements, statements of work, change orders, terms of service, end user license agreements, and strategic partnership agreements for content, data, technologies and services.  The selected candidate will also be responsible for advising as to electronic health records, cloud service providers, internet, and digital and social media issues.

    Minimum Experience

    Five (5) years of experience with information technology transactions, health IT issues, and/or information security.

    Minimum Education

    A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and licensure in at least one US state are required.

    Required Credentials

    Authorization to practice law in the State of Tennessee must be obtained within nine (9) months from date of hire into the position.

    Other Credentials

    Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
