  • Overview

The Center for In Vivo Imaging and Therapeutics (CIVIT) acts to combine state-of-the-art imaging technologies, preclinical model development and advanced technical expertise to support investigator-led research efforts. Imaging support ranges from high-throughput bio-luminescence imaging, high-frequency sonography and multiphoton intravital microscopy to high field MRI and µPET-CT. In addition to providing opportunities for detailed observations of biological processes in preclinical models, these modalities are strongly amenable to determining therapeutic response in a translational setting. Playing a pivotal role in our strategic initiative toward identification of new targets and translation of novel therapeutic approaches, CIVIT seeks to identify and recruit outstanding individuals to meet the research goals of our faculty.

    Responsibilities

As a Senior Staff Scientist, you will lead the day-to-day activities of the preclinical therapeutics initiatives within the Center for In Vivo Imaging and Therapeutics (CIVIT), an institutional shared resource and valuable partner in the development of new therapeutic approaches at St. Jude. The CIVIT team provides state-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary technical and technological support for the research efforts of our investigators, both basic and translational.

    Key responsibilities are as follows:

    • Facilitate translational research and evaluation of novel therapeutic opportunities through the use of advanced imaging tools and incorporation of Image Guided Radiation Therapy to effectively model clinical practices
    • Train and oversee laboratory staff members
    • Liaise with researchers and staff to effectively and efficiently develop, evaluate, implement and report translational studies

In this role, you will not only have direct input into experimental design, but also be integrally involved in project implementation and assessment of outcome. St. Jude is committed to the identification of novel targets and opportunities for therapeutic development and your expertise is essential for our success in this endeavor.
