The Developmental Neurobiology Department of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital seeks a Manager of Operations to assist the Director of Operations with all aspects of departmental scientific operations and shared resources.
The role requires a strong scientific background and the ability to work closely with the Principal Investigators and staff to ensure efficient day to day operations of the department. Highly collaborative with excellent communication skills and great attention to detail, the Operations Manager will be experienced in laboratory operations, delegating responsibility and oversight of department equipment, and implementing institutional, state, and federal regulations. Will provide leadership, coaching and mentoring and serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex department problems.
Manages the department’s scientific initiatives and monitors department databases and budgets. Leads group of senior scientific support staff to coordinate department operations. Provides orientation for new hires and educates staff on Standard Operating Procedures. The right candidate will serve as liaison between the department labs, cores, and to the rest of the institution.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field required. Master's degree preferred
Seven (7) years of relevant scientific/laboratory experience, which includes experience supervising and/or leading a research staff and coordinating department-wide initiatives, required
