    The Director of Nursing for Ambulatory Care assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services. In collaboration with nursing and hospital administration, allocates department resources in an efficient and economic manner. Collaborates with other departments, medical professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government agencies to develop, support and coordinate the safest and highest quality of care for patients.

    Minimum Experience

    Five (5) years of management experience required

    Hospital management, clinical and/or research experience preferred

     

    LICENSURE, REGISTRATION AND/OR CERTIFICATION NECESSARY: (LC: RN-TN, RN-MISS, RN-ARK or RN-KY) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state OR Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state required

    Certification in a nursing leadership or related field required two years from date of hire

    Minimum Education

    Master's degree in Nursing is required or Bachelor's in Nursing in lieu of a Master's degree outside of Nursing

    Professional certification in nursing leadership or related field required within 2 years of hire date

    Required Credentials

    (LC: RN-TN, RN-MISS, RN-ARK or RN-KY) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state OR Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state required.

    Other Credentials

    Certification in a nursing leadership or related field required two years from date of hire.
