  • Overview

    The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a new and growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the mission of taking St. Jude to the world by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.

    Responsibilities

    Focused on improving outcomes in low to middle income countries, the department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) plays an integral role in building sustainable clinical research models worldwide. The Clinical Research Associate I manages data collection and prepares reports to support clinical research as well as ensures compliance with prescribed interventions and evaluations of the assigned protocols. Much of the work will be project based while new studies are coming down the pipeline. Since the majority of current projects are located in Latin America, the ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish.     Minimum Education

    • Bachelor's degree in a related biomedical/bio-behavioral field required
    • Master's degree preferred

    Minimum Experience

    • Two (2) years of experience in clinical research, research, or related field required with Bachelor's degree
    • No experience required with a Master's degree in a related field

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge of medical terminology
    • General knowledge of Federal Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, institutional committee review and reporting requirements (IRB and Scientific Committee), and regulatory affairs
    • Ability to compile, analyze, and summarize data
    • Fluency in Spanish and English a must with excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail
    • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate meetings across different time zones
    • Cultural sensitivity is a must
    • Flexibility to travel internationally (no more than 10%)

    Other Credentials

    • Certification in clinical research from the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA) or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) must be obtained within three (3) years of assuming the position
