The Advanced Practic Nurse under the supervision of the Director-Nursing, serves as a clinical expert for a specific patient population using advanced practice skills in a collaborative style in the management of patients throughout their continuum of care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Provides care for patients both in the outpatient clinic and the inpatient setting and addresses both acute and chronic issues in managing disease and treatment-related complications. Provides clinical leadership for multidisciplinary groups for designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address patient care issues. Collects, documents and analyzes patient data; collaborates in the development and implementation of treatment plans; coordinates patient care with ancillary clinical services. As a clinical expert, incorporates current evidence-based knowledge in the implementation of cost effective quality care. Fosters a learning environment for patients, families, and members of the health care team. As an advanced practice nurse, demonstrates commitment to the accomplishment of organizational goals, the nursing profession and the community at large. May orient or precept students and new staff. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed to meet the goals and objectives of the institution.
This position will primarily work with our Solid Tumor unity will assist in other areas as needed.
Four (4) years of clinical experience in an acute care setting required. Clinical experience must include at least two (2) years of experience in an area of expertise
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) is required
Must possess a current Advanced Practice Nurse License issued by the Tennessee State Board of Nursing (LC: AP-TN) Must possess a current Tennessee State Board of Nursing license if primary residence is Tennessee or a Nurse Licensure non-Compact state (LC:RN-TN) Must possess a current State Board of Nursing license in the state of primary residence if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state (LC: RN-ARK, RN-MISS or RN-KY)

(LC: ONS-AOCNS, ANCC-SURG, ANCC-CCNS, ANCC-CNSP, ANCC-NP or PNCB-NP) Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS) for the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS), Clinical Nurse Specialist in Med/Surg Nursing (CNS in Med/Surg) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Clinical Specialist in Pediatrics (CNSP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC-NP/PNCB-NP) or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (ANCC-NP/PNCB-NP)
Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse (CPON) and /or Certified Critical Care Nurse (CCCN) is preferred
