At St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, we know what can be achieved when the brightest scientific minds face the fewest barriers. That’s why we provide world-class facilities, state-of-the-art technologies, extraordinary support, and a collaborative, bench-to-bedside environment where you can see, firsthand, how your science translates into survival for the children we serve. Quite simply, at St. Jude, we encourage you to dream big, and we give you everything you need to be the force behind the cures.
We’re currently seeking a Director of smFL to drive the advancement of our state-of-the-art Single Molecule Fluorescence Center within the Department of Structural Biology. Currently, the smFL Center is equipped with a 3-laser, 4-detector PicoQuant MicroTime 200 confocal fluorescence microscope; our planned expansion requires an experienced leader with expertise in smFL experiments to manage the purchase, operation and implementation of new instruments. If you’re an ambitious and creative PhD-level scientist, then this is your opportunity to work collaboratively within the Center and across the institution to grow St. Jude’s smFL operations and ensure quality management of all related procedures.
Additional responsibilities include the hiring, training and supervising of staff members, and participation in research with investigators within and outside the department. Our highly collaborative, mission-driven environment requires a team-oriented individual with strong leadership skills to ensure quality operations and procedures.
