The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is a new and growing department looking for professionals who are eager to help implement the mission of taking St. Jude to the world by training the clinical workforce, developing and strengthening health systems and patient-centered initiatives, and advancing knowledge to sustain continuous improvement through research.



The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM)/St. Jude Global (SJG) at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) is seeking a Project Coordinator to support collaborative initiatives in China.  Duties will include assisting with implementation and oversight of projects and initiatives including researching, documenting, and disseminating information.  This key team member will act as a liaison with other members of GPM/SJG and collaborators across China, and thus must be able to communicate clearly and foster trusting relationships with colleagues and collaborators.


The Project Coordinator for China is responsible for:

  • Maintaining relevant data and project records for all project activities, while ensuring alignment with overarching goals and compliance with institutional policies
  • Facilitating coordination of site visits (e.g., logistics and meeting organization) and preparation of agenda and summary reports
  • Facilitating written and spoken bilingual discussions in live meetings, presentations, and email/written communications
  • Facilitating forward/backward translations of departmental materials and resources (e.g., needs assessment tools) as indicated
  • Preparing bilingual written materials, such as grants and reports, for information dissemination

Minimum Experience

  • Three (3) years of complex project management experience, preferably in health-related setting

  • Fluency in Mandarin, simplified Chinese, and English a must with excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills (fluency in Cantonese and traditional Chinese a plus)

  • Must have demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects/work initiatives

  • Must have flexibility to travel (<20%) for on-site facilitation as needed

Preferred Experience and Abilities

  • Familiarity with general medical/health services terminology

  • Experience with Mircrosoft Office tools

  • Experience in the international and health care setting

  • Flexibility in schedule to accommodate meetings across different time zones

  • Cultural sensitivity is a must

Minimum Education

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, or related field required
  • Master's degree in public health, epidemiology, or related field preferred
