The Flow Cytometry Core Facility at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a highly motivated Research Lab Specialist in Flow Cytometry to play a key role in the advancement of multi-parametric cytometry analysis. In this position, you will be expected to provide full collaborative support to investigators who use our Flow Cytometry Core Facility. Your job duties will include: 1) operating, maintaining, calibrating and troubleshooting flow cytometry instrumentation 2) supporting investigators in designing and optimizing multi-parameter flow cytometry experiments using various cell lines and cell types 3) testing new reagents and optimizing assays 4) interpretation and analysis of flow cytometry data. In addition, ease and skill in interactions with many users with varying skill levels will be essential and participation in a strong team environment will be expected. Proficiency in flow cytometry acquisition (FACSDiva) and analysis (FlowJo) software is strongly preferred.
A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant post-degree work experience, with at least five (5) years at the Sr. Research Tech level, is required with a bachelor's degree.
A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant post-degree work experience, with at least (5) years at the Sr. Research Tech level, is required with a master's degree.
A minimum of four (4) years of relevant work experience including post-doctoral and/or technical staff experience is required with a Ph.D.
Bachelor's degree in appropriate scientific field is required.
